About Gordon Cottage Child Development Centre
Gordon Cottage is one of four Child Development Centre’s in Fife. Based in Kelty, we take children from Kelty, Cowdenbeath, Hill of Beath, Crossgates, Lochgelly, Ballingry, Dalgety Bay, Inverkeithing, Rosyth and North Queensferry.
The service is provided by NHS Fife for pre-school children with additional support needs.
The team is made up of 2 Nurses with expertise in working with children and 3 Nursery Nurses. A wide range of professionals also input to the centre regularly including Medical Staff, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Child Development Psychologists and Sensory Impairment Teachers.
We also have close links with local Health Visitors and Nurseries, the Pre-school Home Visiting Service and Social Work Departments.
We offer a happy, safe environment where parents and professionals work in partnership for the promotion of each child’s individual development.
We use play during assessment and in therapy to promote development. All children are encouraged to reach their maximum potential. We support and empower parents to be an advocate for their child and provide the opportunity to meet other families with a child with additional needs.
